The full mechanism
BPC-157 is a synthetic 15-amino-acid peptide — a partial sequence of Body Protection Compound, a protein isolated from human gastric juice. It is stable in human gastric juice for more than 24 hours — the property that made per-oral administration viable in its animal studies — and the published literature reports a defined cascade: VEGFR2 receptor activation, then Src/FAK and Akt, then eNOS and nitric-oxide bioavailability.
The central position of that literature is balance rather than one-way stimulation: in rat models the peptide counteracts a blocked NO system (L-NAME) and an over-stimulated one (L-arginine) alike, with free-radical formation falling alongside. No lethal dose was established at 2 g/kg in mice, and few, if any, side effects are reported across the published literature.
Acemannan brings the second profile: an acetylated polymannose from Aloe vera inner leaf, recognized by the innate immune system's pattern-recognition receptors — engaging macrophage activity and NK-cell response, and raising proliferation, type I collagen and VEGF expression in fibroblast studies.
