Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information American Sciences (“American Sciences,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects through americansciences.org (the “Site”), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Current-release scope. Each section below applies when the account, ordering, support, review, address, payment, or email service it describes is available; we collect service-specific information only when you use an available service.

1. Who we are

American Sciences is a US-based company. Our legal entity is American Sciences LLC, a Delaware limited liability company. Our mailing address is:

For any privacy question or request, use our privacy request form. It records your request and gives you a reference, so we can tell you where it stands.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us. If you contact us, you provide your name, email address, and the content of your message. If you create an account or place an order, you provide the account, contact, delivery, and order information needed for that service.

Accounts. Accounts are optional; you can always check out as a guest. You sign in with a one-time link or code sent to your email, so no password is needed.

Email sign-up. If you join our email list, we keep your email address and a record of when and how you agreed. Signing in, buying, or browsing never signs you up. If you tick the sign-up box at checkout and don’t finish your order, your confirmation email may arrive about an hour later and show what was in your cart. We send that reminder only once, and only if you ticked the box. The first time you verify your email address for product news and offers, we email you a one-time welcome code.

Order and support information. When you place an order, we collect your name, email address, phone number, shipping address (and a billing address where the payment method needs one), the products and quantities ordered, discounts, totals, order status, and transaction references. If you ask for support, a replacement, or a refund, we keep the request and the actions taken with the order record.

Refund wallet address. If we approve a refund, we ask for the wallet address to send it to and keep that address with your order. Refunds are sent in USDC on the Base network. Like all such transfers, they are recorded on a public ledger that shows the wallet address, amount and time, but not your name.

Manual-payment inquiries. If you ask us to arrange an order above the online-card limit, we store your name, email address, optional phone number, message, and the products, quantities, and totals in the server-priced cart you asked us to arrange.

Optional address suggestions. If you choose to use checkout address suggestions, Google Maps Platform processes the partial street-address text you enter and the selected place identifier so we can return a structured address. We do not include your name, email, phone number, order contents, or payment information in those requests. You can always enter the address manually instead.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and the service providers in Section 5 automatically receive:

• IP address. Your IP address is processed to protect the Site from spam and abuse. It is used as the key of a short-lived rate-limiting counter stored in our database, and those records are automatically deleted after two days. Your IP address is also processed by our hosting and bot-protection providers as part of delivering and securing the Site.
• Approximate location (country, region, and city), derived by our hosting provider from your IP address. If you submit an available public contact form, this approximate location may be stored with the contact record. We do not store your full IP address on that record.
• Referral and campaign information: the address of the web page that referred you, the page on our Site where you arrived, and campaign tags (UTM parameters) in the link you followed. We use this for first-party attribution; if you submit an available contact form, it may be stored with that contact record.
• Device and browser information: your browser’s user-agent string and language setting. We process this for security, compatibility, and first-party analytics; an available contact form may store it with the contact record.

Email information. When we send you email, our email provider tells us what happens to it (for example, whether it was delivered, bounced, or marked as spam). We keep these records, which include your email address, to see how our emails perform and to stop sending to addresses that bounce or report our mail as spam.

Customer reviews. If you submit a product review, we store the rating, title, review text, moderation state, and the order-item link needed to verify the purchase. A published review shows the rating, review text, month and year, and a “Verified purchase” label. It does not show your name, email, address, order number, or account ID.

We do not ask for health information or government identifiers through this Site. Payment details are entered directly on our payment partner’s secure page. American Sciences never receives or stores your card number, bank details, or any identity documents our partner asks you for.

3. Cookies and analytics

• Analytics preference. We store one first-party preference cookie once you choose whether to allow analytics. It records only that choice and the privacy rules that applied when you made it, expires after 180 days, and is not a visitor identifier. Where analytics is allowed (because you allowed it, or by default in the United States), our cookieless analytics service reports aggregate visit statistics such as page views, referring sites, approximate country, and device type. This cookieless analytics service never receives account, order, payment, query-string, or signed-capability routes.
• Bot protection. We use Cloudflare Turnstile to distinguish humans from automated bots on our forms. It is a strictly necessary security service and may store a short-lived token or similar value in your browser for that purpose.
• Checkout details on your device. To save you typing them again, checkout keeps the email address and phone number you enter in your browser’s local storage on that device. Keeping them there sends nothing to us, and they are not used for analytics or advertising. We do not keep your name or address this way. To remove them, select “Not you? Clear” next to your email at checkout or sign out of your account; clearing your browser’s site data also removes them.
• Advertising measurement. Where analytics is allowed (because you allowed it, or by default in the United States), we load the Meta Pixel, a third-party advertising and cross-site tracking technology operated by Meta. It reports which pages you reach and, when you complete a purchase, the order total and currency. It is not loaded on your account or sign-in pages, and it never receives your name, email address, or what you bought. If you choose essential only, it is never loaded. You can change your choice at any time from the footer. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as an opt-out and do not load it at all, whatever your stored choice says.
• Google advertising and analytics measurement. Where analytics is allowed (because you allowed it, or by default in the United States), we load Google measurement tags (Google Analytics and Google Ads). They report which pages you reach, which products you view, add to your cart or buy, and, for a purchase, the order reference, product names and quantities, and the order amounts and currency. They never receive your name, email address, postal address or phone number, and they are not loaded on your account, sign-in, cart, payment or order-status pages. If you choose essential only, they are never loaded. You can change your choice at any time from the footer. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as an opt-out. To avoid counting a purchase twice, we keep a short list of your completed order references in your browser’s local storage; that list holds no other information. We may also report a completed purchase to Google and Meta from our servers, with the same information and under the same choice. We wait half an hour before sending, and we check your choice again immediately before we send, so a change that reaches us in that time stops the report. After that we may no longer be able to connect a change of mind to the purchase, and a report already sent cannot be taken back.
• Where measurement starts, and how to stop it. We collect analytics and advertising measurement to understand how the Site is used, to improve it and keep it performing well, and to see whether our advertising reaches people who find it useful. Whether analytics and advertising measurement start switched on depends on the privacy rules of the country your visit comes from, which we determine only from the two-letter country code our hosting provider attaches to the request. In the United States, measurement is on by default, and you can switch it off at any time by choosing essential only or by using the “Do not sell or share my personal information” control in the footer of every page. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and wherever the country cannot be determined, measurement stays off until you allow it. A choice you make yourself is always kept and always overrides these defaults, and we record which rules applied when you made it, so a later change in the rules cannot alter your answer. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we honour it over every default and every earlier choice and load no analytics or advertising measurement at all.
• California “sale” and “sharing”. Under California law, sending the measurement data described above to Google and Meta for advertising may count as a “sale” or a “share” of personal information, even though no money changes hands. You can opt out at any time with the “Do not sell or share my personal information” control in the footer, by choosing essential only, or with a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser; each of these stops those tags immediately and keeps them from loading when you come back.

4. How we use your information

We use the information described above to:

• send order, account-access, support, shipping, refund, security, and other transactional messages you request or that are needed to provide the service;
• send news and offers emails, if you asked for them;
• see how our emails perform, so we can make them more useful;
• respond to messages you send us;
• create, verify, fulfill, support, reconcile, replace, cancel, or refund your order;
• verify, moderate, publish, and respond to product reviews without exposing the underlying customer or order identity;
• detect and respond to payment and order fraud and maintain transaction, financial, and accounting records;
• understand, in aggregate, how the Site is used, improve it and keep it performing well, and measure whether our advertising is effective;
• stop transactional delivery to addresses that bounce or report spam;
• protect the Site against spam, fraud, and abuse; and
• comply with legal obligations.

Our marketing emails. We send news and offers only to people who asked for them, and every marketing email includes a one-click unsubscribe.

5. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information in exchange for money. Under California’s broader definitions, the measurement tags described in Section 3 may constitute a “sale” or a “share” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising; Section 3 explains how to opt out; once you have, we stop those tags at once and do not load them again.

We share it with service providers who operate the Site for us, under contract and only as needed to provide their service:

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, our users, or the public; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

6. How long we keep information

• Contact and support records are kept only as long as reasonably needed to answer the request, protect the service, or meet a legal obligation, unless you ask us to delete them sooner (Section 7).
• Rate-limiting records (which include IP addresses) are automatically deleted after two days.
• Suppression records: if an email address hard-bounces or reports our mail as spam, we keep that address on a do-not-send list so that we do not email it again. We keep this for as long as we send email, because deleting it would cause us to email the address again.
• Email sign-up and unsubscribe records are kept while we send marketing email, so we can show you agreed and respect your marketing choices.
• Email records (what happens to the emails we send) are kept only as long as reasonably needed to see how our emails perform and to investigate delivery, bounce, and complaint problems.
• Order, transaction, delivery, support, and refund records are kept for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the order, administer the terms accepted with it, detect fraud, resolve disputes, and meet financial, accounting, and other legal recordkeeping obligations.
• Review records are retained with their moderation and publication history so we can preserve review integrity, honor valid privacy requests, and investigate abuse. A public review is removed from display when it is archived.

7. Your choices and rights

• Marketing choices. Unsubscribe any time: one click in any marketing email, from your account, from the private “Email preferences” link in your order emails, or through our privacy request form. Unsubscribing never affects your orders or the emails about them.
• Access, correct, or delete your information. Use our privacy request form and we will respond as required by applicable law. We may retain transaction records that law requires us to keep even after honoring a deletion request.

Depending on where you live, US state privacy laws (for example in California, Virginia, Colorado, and Connecticut) may give you rights to know what personal information we hold about you, to obtain a copy of it, to correct it, or to have it deleted. To exercise any of these rights, use our privacy request form. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.

Do not sell or share. Because the measurement tags described in Section 3 may amount to a “sale” or a “share” of personal information under California law, you have the right to opt out. Use the “Do not sell or share my personal information” control in the footer of every page, choose essential only, or send a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser; each of these stops those tags immediately and keeps them from loading on later visits. If our practices change, we will update this Policy and provide any choices required by law at that time.

Welcome offer (notice of financial incentive)

What we offer. When you join our email list for product news and offers and verify your email address for the first time, we email you a personal code for 15% off one order, up to $40 off. The code is valid for 30 days, works once, and works only with the email address it was sent to. One code per person. Joining is optional and is never required to buy from us. The full offer terms are in our Terms of Sale.

The information involved. Your email address; the record of your sign-up (when and where on our site you joined, the wording you were shown, and how you verified your address); whether you joined while signed in to your account; and the code’s status (sent, used, expired or cancelled), including the order it was used on. We use this information to send the code and the product news and offers you asked for, to keep the offer to one per person, and to measure whether the offer works. We never send the code itself to advertising or analytics services.

How to join. Tick the box or enter your email in any of our sign-up boxes, then click the link in our confirmation email. If you join while signed in to your account, your sign-in confirms your address and no confirmation email is needed.

How to leave. You can leave at any time:

• by using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email;
• from the Communication section of your account; or
• through our contact form.

Leaving the list does not cancel a code you already have. If you ask us to delete your personal information, we cancel any unused code.

Keeping the offer to one per person. So that the same person cannot claim the offer more than once, after you unsubscribe we keep a scrambled, one-way form of your email address. It cannot be turned back into your address, and we use it only to check whether a welcome code was already sent. If you ask us to delete your information, we cancel any unused code and delete that scrambled form too.

How the offer relates to the value of your information. Our good-faith estimate of the value of your sign-up information to us is the value of the discount the offer gives you: 15% of one order, at most $40. At our current prices that is about $9.75 on our lowest-priced product and about $13.33 on our average order. We calculated this from the expense to us of providing the discount, which is one of the methods California’s rules allow. We consider the offer reasonably related to that value.

8. Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit, strict database access controls, and least-privilege service credentials. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard the information we hold.

9. Age of users

The Site and our products are intended for adults aged 18 and over. The Site is not directed to children, and minors should not submit personal information through the Site. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, tell us through our privacy request form and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new “Last updated” date.
