Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information American Sciences (“American Sciences,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects through americansciences.org (the “Site”), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
American Sciences is a US-based company. Our legal entity is American Sciences LLC, a Delaware limited liability company. Our mailing address is:
American Sciences LLC
2651 N Harwood St, Dallas, TX 75201
For any privacy question or request, contact privacy@americansciences.org.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you join our early-access list you provide your first name, last name, and email address. If you contact us, you provide your name, email address, and the content of your message.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and the service providers in Section 5 automatically receive:
- IP address. Your IP address is processed to protect the Site from spam and abuse. It is used as the key of a short-lived rate-limiting counter stored in our database, and those records are automatically deleted after two days. Your IP address is also processed by our hosting and bot-protection providers as part of delivering and securing the Site.
- Approximate location (country, region, and city), derived by our hosting provider from your IP address. If you sign up, this approximate location is stored with your contact record. We do not store your full IP address on your contact record.
- Referral and campaign information — the address of the web page that referred you, the page on our Site where you arrived, and marketing campaign tags (UTM parameters) in the link you followed. If you sign up, this is stored with your contact record.
- Device and browser information— your browser’s user-agent string and language setting. If you sign up, this is stored with your contact record.
Email delivery information. When we send you email, our email provider reports delivery events back to us (for example, whether a message was delivered, bounced, or was marked as spam). We store these event records, which include your email address, so that we can keep our mailing list accurate and stop sending to addresses that bounce or report our mail as spam.
We do not collect health information, payment card numbers, or government identifiers through this Site. No products are sold through the Site at this time.
3. Cookies and analytics
- Analytics. We use a cookieless website-analytics service that reports aggregate visit statistics such as page views, referring sites, approximate country, and device type. It does not use cookies to track you across websites and does not build an advertising profile of you.
- Bot protection. We use Cloudflare Turnstile to distinguish humans from automated bots on our forms. It is a strictly necessary security service and may store a short-lived token or similar value in your browser for that purpose.
- We do not currently use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not run third-party advertising pixels on the Site.
4. How we use your information
We use the information described above to:
- send you a confirmation email and, if you confirm, add you to our early-access list;
- send you launch news, early-access offers, and related updates you have asked for;
- respond to messages you send us;
- understand, in aggregate, how the Site is used, and improve it;
- keep our mailing list accurate and stop emailing addresses that bounce or report spam;
- protect the Site against spam, fraud, and abuse; and
- comply with legal obligations.
We send marketing email only to people who have confirmed their email address by clicking the link in our confirmation email.
5. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We share it with service providers who operate the Site for us, under contract and only as needed to provide their service:
| Provider | What it does | What it processes |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel | Website hosting and cookieless analytics (United States) | Requests to the Site, including your IP address and the approximate location derived from it |
| Supabase | Database hosting (United States) | Your contact record; the short-lived rate-limiting records described in Section 2 |
| Resend | Sends our confirmation and email updates | Your email address, your name, the content of our emails to you, and delivery events |
| Cloudflare | Domain name service and bot protection | Your IP address and browser signals when our forms verify you are not a bot |
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, our users, or the public; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
6. How long we keep information
- Contact records are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them (Section 7).
- Rate-limiting records (which include IP addresses) are automatically deleted after two days.
- Suppression records — if an email address hard-bounces or reports our mail as spam, we keep that address on a do-not-send list so that we do not email it again. We keep this for as long as we send email, because deleting it would cause us to email the address again.
- Email delivery event records are kept to maintain list quality and diagnose delivery problems.
7. Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe at any time. Every marketing email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also email privacy@americansciences.org.
- Access, correct, or delete your information. Email privacy@americansciences.org and we will respond as required by applicable law.
Depending on where you live, US state privacy laws (for example in California, Virginia, Colorado, and Connecticut) may give you rights to know what personal information we hold about you, to obtain a copy of it, to correct it, or to have it deleted. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@americansciences.org. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right.
We do not sell or share your personal information for targeted advertising. If our practices change, we will update this Policy and provide any choices required by law at that time.
8. Security
We protect your information with encryption in transit, strict database access controls, and least-privilege service credentials. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard the information we hold.
9. Age of users
The Site and our products are intended for adults aged 18 and over. The Site is not directed to children, and minors should not submit personal information through the Site. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact privacy@americansciences.org and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new “Last updated” date.
